Executive Director IT Middle East, Africa, India & Turkey - Customer Technology Services
Roger was appointed Executive Director IT Middle East, Africa, India & Turkey - Customer Technology Services in April 2020. In this role, Roger and his team are responsible for the day-to-day management and support of all hotel IT operations. He and his team maintain close relationships with General Managers & Owners and act as the main point of contact between the Middle East & Africa and Global IT in Paris. The customer technology services role is fundamental in ensuring all hotels meet rigorous Accor IT standards and benefit from the technological innovations that are transforming the hospitality industry.
Roger joined Accor as a Regional Director IT MEA – Customer Service Management in 2019 from Movenpick Hotels & Resorts where he held the position of Corporate Director of IT - Customer Service Management. In this role, he was an integral part of the major roll outs required to update legacy systems across over 80 hotels worldwide, including the implementation of PMS Opera Cloud, POS Simphony Cloud, Cloud Backup and a Cloud Internet Billing System.
Roger has over 23 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, beginning his career as a Front Office Manager for a boutique hotel in Beirut. His first job in hospitality IT was as a System and Network administrator for a five-star hotel in Lebanon, before moving to Nigeria as a Group IT Manager for a development company. In 2006, Roger moved to Dubai as an IT Director for Rotana Hotels & Resorts. He joined Movenpick Hotels & Resorts in 2011 as a Director of IT for UAE hotels (6 hotels)
Roger holds a Teaching Diploma in Computer Science from the Faculty of Science, Lebanese University, Beirut, Lebanon. He is also ITIL and CDCP certified and is currently pursuing a Masters in Project Leadership & Systems Architecture.
