Felix Linnarinne

Hotel Institute Montreux (HIM)

My name is Felix Linnarinne, and I’m representing Hotel Institute Montreux in the Sustainable Hospitality Challenge. After finishing high school in Helsinki, Finland, I felt adventurous and wanted to study abroad, and ended up moving to Montreux, Switzerland. The idea of working in the hospitality industry didn’t come to me or my family as a surprise, as I’ve always been interested in helping people, and making others happy was a reward for myself. My hobbies include american football and ice hockey, which has taught me the skill of working as a team to achieve a common goal, even though everybody has different goals within the bigger picture. After graduating as a Bachelor of Business Administration, I’m willing to work to find a working culture that shares the same values as I do, to ensure my own happiness. Working is at its best, when I’m working in an environment that gets me in the zone, where I lose the sense of time. Having a project reflecting on sustainability in the hospitality industry in the future has been an instructive trip for myself. My journey in the Sustainable Hospitality Challenge is about to reach the climax, the finals.
