Hala Matar Choufany is the President for HVS Middle East, Africa & South Asia and Managing Partner of HVS Dubai.
Hala is an experienced Managing Partner and Hospitality Advisor with a demonstrated history of working in the hospitality industry. Skilled in Contract Negotiation, Feasibility Studies, Development Recommendation, Valuation, Asset Management, and Strategic Advisory; she has advised on more than 2,500 hospitality and mixed-use projects in the last 15 years across Europe, MEA and Asia. Hala has in-depth expertise in regional hotel markets and a broad exposure to international markets and maintains excellent contacts with developers, owners, operators, investment institutions and government entities. Hala speaks frequently at investment coneferences on a range of topics including asset valuation, management issues and women leadership.
Hala completed Executive Education at Harvard Business School. She also holds an MBA in Finance and Strategy from IMHI (Essec- Cornell) University, Paris, France and a BA in Hospitality Management from Notre Dame University, Lebanon. Hala is fluent in English, French and Arabic.
Hala is a board member of Harvard Business School club of the GCC and is a mum of three. Born in Beirut, Hala lived and worked in a number of cities across Europe, Asia and Middle East.

Mr Alain Debare is responsible for the Real Estate Portfolios managed by the Equitativa Group and focuses on the various properties with a supervisory role to ensure the objectives are achieved. Driven by his sector knowledge and hands-on expertise, Alain is closely involved with the property managers and teams to increase the profitability and performance of the operating properties.
Alain brings extensive experience in operations and development having spent most of his career in the hospitality industry, in various operational roles and more recently as a hotel owner, developer and asset manager. Alain held various management positions with leading hotel management companies, including Mandarin Oriental and Hilton Hotels Corporation and joined Equitativa in September 2018 from his role as CEO of Action Hotels PLC which he led shortly after its inception and has been key to its growth.
Alain has broad international management and operations experience having worked in the Philippines, France, Venezuela, Brazil, Spain and the GCC.
Mr Debare received a BA and a Masters in Hotel Management from Institut Paul Bocuse - IGL Lyon in France and has also obtained a certification in hospitality investments and asset management from Cornell University. He speaks fluent French, English and Spanish and is a founding member of HAMA (Hotel Asset Managers Association).

Thomas K. Jacob is currently serving as the Head of Strategy and Investor Relations at Mashreq where he deals with matters of Corporate strategy, facilitates the development of the long term strategic direction of the Bank and drives various strategic initiatives. He is also responsible for managing Investor Relations and ensuring a fair and trustworthy two-way communication between the Bank and its current and prospective target stakeholders. Prior to this he was working with the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank and he has spent nearly a decade in management consulting with firms like BCG, E&Y and Tata Strategic Management Group where he focused on Financial Services and Operations areas. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) from BITS, Pilani and has done his MBA from IIM, Ahmedabad in India. He has also completed International Business and Project Management from ESCP-EAP, Paris.
